Ambikapur

We have seen that on the invitation and encouragement of Bishop Paschal Topno SJ the house at Bhaiswar was opened. Our sisters were collaborating with Jesuit in the mission there. Our Province was looking for a place to open a house at a central place that would serve as a study house for sisters and Candidates. It would also serve as a house for rest for the sisters during their journey, for those who work in village, for recruitment and for initial formation. Bishop who knew the sisters well invited them to Ambikapur. Bishop gave a small house at Fundaldihari which was used by the drivers and the Catechist. Bishop renovated the house and equipped the house with the necessary facilities.

In the presence of sr. Loretta, The house was blessed and opened the community on 10th October 1992. The members were sr. Maria Theresa, Sr. Anies Varghese and sr. Vikas kujur. The house was named “Kripalaya” –the abode of grace. Here we have good catholic population. Pastoral and social work was a main ministry.

Now there four in the community, engaged in pastoral, education and social. Sister are collaborating with Diocesan and Jesuit fathers.
