Vashi

This call came from the constant encouragement of Fr. Tony Robins, the brother of our Sr. Christine Rozario. When this proposal reached

Sr. Georgina, the Provincial, she took all the means to visit Bombay and met the priests concerned.

Cardinal Ivan Dias and Bishop Thomas Dabre welcomed the Sisters to Vashi to take up the post of headmistress in the Parish High School, care of the sick and the old people in the Parish and other pastoral activities.

Fr. Ralph Fernandez, Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart Parish and the Manager of Sacred High School, suggested to the Sisters the renting of a house for their stay, since buying land in Bombay is not an easy task. The Fathers also offered the Sisters rent – free accommodation in the school building.

Our Superiors, however, decided to purchase a house instead. The house was bought and the community was opened in Vashi on the 30th of May 2005, with the Eucharistic celebration, Many parishioners participated in large numbers.

The pioneers were Srs. Malar M. ( Animator ), Mary Francina and Rita Francis.
