Chengalpet

This community was inaugurated on 2nd June 2012. The members of the Community: Sr Josephine Mary, animator of the community, Sr Marie Lucy, residing as an ashramite in Walajabad, coming periodically to the community, Sr. Antony Maria Selvi, Sr Ezhilarasi.

Find here the introduction for the Eucharistic Celebration for this occasion of the inauguration.

This inauguration is taking place on the eve of the great Feast of the Holy Trinity. This is surely not by chance; it has been willed by God from all eternity. Our First Constitutions of 1852 proclaims in its first chapter:

“The Congregation is consecrated to the Most Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Spirit under the protection of Jesus, Mary and Joseph; this will lead the Congregation to glorify unceasingly the Most Holy Trinity with deep humility and through the practice of all that they will come to know, in order to be more perfect and more pleasing to his Holy Will, just as Jesus, Mary and Joseph did while they were on earth.”

Our Charism: “Rooted in the love of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit we are called together to be for God and to be for others, to live and build Communion in our communities and in the world”.

The realization of this new Foundation is an explicit call to us to incarnate in this Diocese of Chingleput our Charism of the Trinitarian Communion. With confidence we launch out, for as is said in Joshua 1:9 “Be fearless then, be confident, for, go where you will, Yahweh your God is with you”. Our words are too poor to express our gratitude to the Triune God for such an opportunity! May it be only for his glory!

The invitation of the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit to us is to be in the heart of the Diocese, like leaven permeating the milieu through our Charism. We have been particularly called by the Diocese through our dear Bishop, Dr Neethinathan, to minister in St Paul’s Matriculation School in Thimmavaram and also to do pastoral ministry in the Diocese. We are indeed grateful for this opportunity you offer us, dear Bishop to incarnate and make alive our Charism of Communion through these ministries.

In an age of growing disunity and disharmony both in the world and in the Church, our Charism to bring people together by building communities of Communion is a great power and strength from the Lord and we want to make it happen here where the Triune God is calling us. Thank you dear Bishop for the vineyard you offer through the facilities you have made available for us.

The Eucharist is the highest expression of this Communion of God with humanity. As we celebrate this Eucharist we implore God with great humility to energize us to live our Charism to the full in this Diocese.

Thanks to Rev Fr Charles and the community here for making our coming and beginning, comfortable and smooth.

“May the Spirit of Love ever lead the Congregation towards its providential destiny and keep it always at the service of our Mother the Holy Church” Amen.

Vision: We the sisters of St Joseph of Tarbes, at Thimmavaram, live our Charism of Communion by hastening the coming of the Kingdom by net-working with all concerned without any discrimination, exclusion, thus realizing the prayer of Jesus: “Father may they all be one”.

Mission: To be the heart of Jesus that unites all unconditionally.
